Carlos de Sousa, MD, MBA, Member of the Board. He is a senior biopharmaceutical executive and business leader with extensive international experience spanning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, oncology, immunotherapy, business development, licensing, M&A, strategy and medical affairs.
Throughout his career, Carlos has held CEO, President, Chief Business Officer and senior leadership roles across public and private life sciences companies, including Ultimovacs, Immunicum, Zealand Pharma, Nycomed/Takeda, Novartis and Pfizer. He has led companies through strategic growth, fundraising, public-market listings, clinical development programmes, partnerships and complex transactions across Europe, North America and international markets.
A physician by training with an Executive MBA from NYU Stern, Carlos combines scientific and medical expertise with commercial and strategic leadership. He has particular experience across oncology, respiratory disease, CNS, gastroenterology and dermatology, working from early-stage development through global commercialization. He is known for building high-performing teams, leading multicultural organizations and navigating complex strategic opportunities in the global life sciences industry.
